Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 1 March 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes what you may and may not do when using the Axiom platform. This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Permitted Use
Axiom is designed for individual academic study purposes. Permitted use includes:
- Uploading lectures you have recorded or have permission to process
- Generating personal study notes, summaries, and practice questions
- Using the Q&A and tutoring features to deepen your understanding of lecture content
- Sharing your referral link to invite other students
2. Academic Integrity
Axiom is a comprehension and study tool — not a shortcut for assessed work. You must not:
- Submit AI-generated text produced by Axiom as your own original written work where prohibited by your institution's academic integrity policies
- Use Axiom to produce assignment answers, essays, or reports intended to deceive an academic assessor
- Share AI-generated content in a way that enables academic dishonesty by others
- Use Axiom to assist in exam fraud, impersonation, or contract cheating
Axiom is not responsible for any academic misconduct findings resulting from your use of the Service. You are solely responsible for compliance with your institution's academic integrity policies.
Using AI tools to study, understand, and revise your own lecture content is generally not misconduct. Using AI to produce submitted work is a different matter — always check your institution's specific policy.
3. Prohibited Content
You must not upload or use Axiom to process:
- Content that violates copyright — including commercially purchased recordings, textbook audio, or third-party educational content you do not have rights to process
- Content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or incites violence or discrimination
- Content that contains personal data of others without their consent
- Pornographic, obscene, or age-restricted material
4. Technical Misuse
You must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Axiom's systems, servers, or other users' accounts
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract Axiom's AI models, prompts, or backend code
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to extract data from the platform at scale
- Interfere with the Service's availability, performance, or integrity (e.g. denial-of-service attacks)
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, feature gates, or tier restrictions
- Share your account credentials with others or allow others to use your account
5. Commercial Restrictions
Unless you have a separate written agreement with Axiom, you must not:
- Resell, sublicense, or commercialise access to the Axiom platform
- Use Axiom to build a competing product or service
- Distribute AI-generated outputs from Axiom for commercial gain
6. Copyright and Intellectual Property
You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload to Axiom does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights. This includes:
- Only uploading recordings of lectures you attended or have permission to record
- Not uploading commercially licensed course recordings, textbook audio, or proprietary third-party educational materials
Axiom will respond to valid copyright infringement notices under applicable law. If you believe content on the platform infringes your copyright, contact us at support@axiomstudy.co.
7. Consequences of Violation
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund
- Removal of content that violates this policy
- Reporting to relevant authorities where required by law
Axiom reserves the right to investigate suspected violations and to cooperate with law enforcement agencies as required.
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of content or activity on the platform that violates this AUP, please report it to support@axiomstudy.co.
