Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Axiom platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Axiom. You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Description of the Service
Axiom is an AI-powered academic study assistant. The Service processes lecture content (audio, transcripts) and generates study materials including summaries, structured notes, practice questions, and revision guidance.
The Service is provided on a subscription basis with tiered feature access (Free, Student, Pro). Feature availability varies by subscription tier.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@axiomstudy.co if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
Each account is for individual use only. Account sharing is prohibited. Axiom enforces single-session access and device verification to prevent account sharing.
You must provide accurate and current information when creating an account. Axiom reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information.
4. Subscription and Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance. Billing is handled by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Axiom to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Billing page in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until that date.
Axiom reserves the right to modify pricing at any time. You will be notified of any price changes at least 14 days before they take effect.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy and applicable Australian Consumer Law.
5. Intellectual Property
The Axiom platform, including its interface, underlying software, and AI models, is owned by Axiom and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of the content you upload to the Service, including lecture recordings and transcripts. By uploading content, you grant Axiom a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
AI-generated study materials produced by the Service (notes, summaries, quizzes) are provided for your personal academic use. You may not redistribute, sell, or publish these outputs without attribution.
6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Axiom uses artificial intelligence to generate study materials. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You should not rely solely on Axiom-generated content for high-stakes academic or professional purposes without independent verification.
Axiom does not guarantee that generated notes, summaries, or quiz answers are factually correct. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of AI-generated content against authoritative sources.
7. Academic Integrity
Axiom is a study aid designed to help you understand and engage with your lecture content. You must not use the Service to:
- Submit AI-generated text as your own original work where prohibited by your institution
- Facilitate or assist in academic dishonesty, plagiarism, or exam fraud
- Share AI-generated content with others in a way that violates your institution's academic integrity policies
Axiom is not responsible for any academic misconduct findings resulting from your misuse of the Service. You are solely responsible for compliance with your institution's academic integrity policies.
8. Acceptable Use
You must not use the Service to:
- Upload content you do not have the right to share (e.g. copyrighted recordings you do not own)
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract Axiom's AI models or outputs at scale
- Interfere with the Service's operation or attempt to gain unauthorised access
- Upload illegal, defamatory, or harmful content
See our Acceptable Use Policy for full details.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Axiom and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profit, or academic outcomes, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Axiom's total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Axiom in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be lawfully excluded.
10. Termination
Axiom reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if you breach these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if required by law.
You may delete your account at any time. Upon account deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
